Salary: $75,000 to $85,000

Location: Must live in Indiana. Remote work is permissible with in-state travel.

About Indiana Afterschool Network

The Indiana Afterschool Network (IAN) wants every young person in Indiana to have the best chance at making a great life for themselves and a positive impact in their communities. We believe out-of-school time programming (i.e., before school, after school, and during the summer) can play a major role in that. For more than two decades, IAN has been committed to out-of-school time (OST) organizations through supports and resources that promote continuous quality improvement of programs, increasing families’ access to OST programming, and advocacy that help to shape the environments in which OST providers serve.

POSITION SUMMARY 

The Senior Director of In-school and Out-of-school Partnerships will lead strategic efforts to bridge in-school and out-of-school time (OST) programs through systems-level partnerships. The Senior Director fosters collaboration among schools, OST providers, and community stakeholders to create integrated educational experiences that support holistic youth development. This role focuses on increasing the impact and visibility of OST programs across Indiana while advancing IAN’s mission to improve access and quality. Through strong leadership and strategic direction, the Senior Director ensures that partnership-building efforts are effectively executed, contributing to the success of OST programs statewide.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Lead and Oversee Partnership Initiatives: Strategically lead the development and management of systems-level partnerships between in-school and out-of-school time (OST) programs. Ensure partnerships align with IAN’s mission and contribute to holistic youth development and improved educational outcomes.
  • Drive Strategic Collaboration: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with schools, OST providers, and community stakeholders. Develop strategies to foster effective collaboration, ensuring these partnerships enhance the quality and accessibility of OST programs.
  • Supervise ADQIs and Guide Staff Development: Provide leadership and guidance to the Associate Directors of Quality Initiatives (ADQIs) to ensure they have the necessary support, resources, and professional development to execute their partnership and quality improvement responsibilities effectively.
  • Program Development and Implementation: Oversee the planning and execution of partnership programs that integrate in-school and OST efforts. Ensure these programs are designed and implemented in alignment with IAN’s goals and objectives, driving measurable outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Building: Serve as an instrumental representative of IAN in community engagement efforts, communicating the value of OST programs and building awareness among community organizations, educational leaders, and local influencers. This role focuses on expanding resources, support, and opportunities for OST programs through community-based initiatives.
  • Monitor and Evaluate Partnerships: Develop and implement systems for tracking and evaluating the effectiveness of partnerships and related programs. Use data to guide continuous improvement, inform strategic decisions, and ensure the sustainability of partnerships.
  • Reporting and Accountability: Ensure timely and accurate reporting on partnership activities and program outcomes. As needed, assist with grant writing, contract management, and stakeholder reporting.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Strategic Leadership: Proven experience leading systems-level initiatives that bridge in-school and out-of-school programs, focusing on aligning resources and efforts for student success.
  • Partnership Development: Expertise in cultivating partnerships among schools, OST providers, and community stakeholders to create integrated educational experiences that promote holistic youth development.
  • Supervisory Experience: Strong leadership experience, with at least 5 years of supervisory experience managing teams, guiding staff, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Youth Development Expertise: Extensive knowledge of youth development principles, with experience in both in-school and OST settings, particularly in programs that serve diverse communities.
  • Science of Reading Expertise Preferred: In-depth understanding of the Science of Reading and its application in educational programs to enhance student literacy outcomes.
  • Project and Program Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders, ensuring deadlines and goals are met in a dynamic environment.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional oral, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to create compelling cases for increased support, investment, and resources for OST programs while effectively engaging diverse stakeholders.
  • Data-Informed Decision Making: Ability to use data to inform strategic decisions, monitor progress, and evaluate the impact of partnership initiatives.
  • Community Building: Promotes inclusive and equitable practices across all initiatives, fostering a culture of belonging where diverse perspectives are valued and all stakeholders feel respected.
  • Experience: 5-7 years in education, OST, community development, or related fields, with significant experience in leadership and partnership-building roles.
  • Education: A master’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in leadership and partnership development. A CYC-P Credential is preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License: Must possess a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for in-state travel as needed.
